Paolo Troubetzkoy (1866–1938) war ein ausserehelicher Sohn des russischen Emigranten Fürst Pjotr Petrowitsch Troubetzkoy. Seine Mutter war Ada Winans aus den USA. Er war Autodidakt und hat Figuren, Plastiken und Porträts aus Bronze und Gips hergestellt. Die erste Ausstellung seiner Werke fand 1886 in den USA statt. 1896 ging er nach Russland, 1914 reiste er in die USA und blieb dort bis 1921. Darauf liess er sich in Paris nieder. Seit 1932 lebte er in Italien. Die Stadt Pallanza am Lago Maggiore hat ihm ein Museum errichtet, wo viele seiner Werke zu sehen sind.
