Die Werke des weissrussischen Künstlers Igor Tishin sind von Elementen aus verschiedenen Kulturen geprägt: Aus seiner Studienzeit an der Kunstakademie in Minsk unter dem Einfluss des Sozialistischen Realismus bringt er die Monumentalität ein. Aus Belgien, wo der Künstler seit fünfzehn Jahren lebt, fliesst die Burleske der Comics mit ein und von der russischen Avantgarde, die experimentale Fotographie mit schrägen Blickwinkeln. Von Chaim Soutine und Francis Bacon, welche Tishin gerne als seine Lehrmeister betrachtet, ist das expressive Kolorit beeinflusst. Dies sind nur einige wenige Beispiele, die zum Verständnis des Schaffens Tishins beitragen.
