708. Die feurige Himmelfahrt des Propheten Elias
Russisch, 19.Jh. Tempera über Kreidegrund auf Holz. Im Zentrum Hl. Elias, in einer Höhle sitzend. Auf der rechten Bildhälfte seine feurige Himmelfahrt, von der er seinem Schüler Elisa einen Mantel hinabwirft, mit dem sie den Jordan überqueren. Die linke Bildhälfte zeigt das Brandopfer des Elias, darunter köpft der Prophet die Baalspriester und es erscheint ihm ein Engel des Herrn. Im Vordergrund Elisa beim Pflügen, hinter ihm steht Elias und gibt ihm einen Mantel. 44,5x36 cm.
