"Selbstbildnis", 1925. Öl auf Leinwand über Karton. Unten rechts monogrammiert, verso signiert, bezeichnet, datiert und mit dem Nachlass-Etikett der Sammlung E. Poeschel versehen. 49,5x40 cm. - Im linken Randbereich die Leinwand stellenweise vom Karton gelöst und mit einigen minimalen Pigmentdefekten.
Das Selbstbildnis der Sammlung Poeschel dokumentiert eindrücklich Aug. Giacometti's Experimentierfreude bei der Farbgestaltung seiner Bilder. In der Reihe der Selbstportaits aus den 20er und 30er Jahren steht es am Ende einer Farbskala, die von leuchtenden, teils grellen Tönen bis zur eher verhaltenen, altmeisterlich dunklen, aber violett verfremdeten, Färbung reicht.
