Der skulptierte Putto scheint von der Hand des Den Haager Künstlers Mattheus Terwesten (1670–1757) zu stammen. Das Gemälde muss demnach während Verbruggens Aufenthalt in Den Haag, zwischen 1706 und 1723, enstanden sein (Hinweis von Fred G. Meijer vom RKD, 2004).
