Madonna mit Kind. Federzeichnung in Schwarz und Braun. Unten rechts bezeichnet „Barabino fec.“. 24,8x20,2 cm. Gerahmt. - Verso, am unteren Rand hs. Bez. "Molto ... Signore ... ora..." und spätere Pflanzenskizzen und Kritzeleien. - Gebräunt, fleckig und mit Randmängeln. Kleine, alt restaurierte Fehlstelle im rechten unteren Bildteil.
Gesicherte Zeichnungen Simone Barabinos sind äusserst selten: Weder die Kataloge der Sammlungen der Ambrosiana, der Uffizien, des Louvre oder des British Museums führen seine Werke auf. Wie die angedeutete Architektur im Hintergrund andeutet, könnte es sich um eine Ideenskizze für ein Altarbild einer der genuesischen(?) Kirchen handeln. Ein Vergleich mit dem malerischen Werk Barabinos gibt keinen Anlass dafür der Signatur (sei sie jetzt eigenhändig, oder von einem Zeitgenossen zugefügt), keinen Glauben schenken zu wollen.
