Jesus weckt die Tochter des Jaïrus von den Toten auf. Feder in Schwarz über Bleistift. Unten rechts monogrammiert „JSC“ (ligiert) und dat. 1857, d. 21. August (in der Mitte). Am linken Rand angefügt (quer) ein Schriftstreifen mit eh. Beschreibung der Szene (Bibelzitat Marcus 5, 41–41 in Volltext). 21,8x26 cm, bzw. Blattrösse mit Schriftsstreifen 21,8x32,7 cm.

Vorzeichnung für den entsprechenden Holzschnitt (Taf. 184) der zwischen 1852 und 1860 in 30 Lieferungen zu 8 Blättern beim Leipziger Verleger G. Wigand erschienen „Bibel in Bildern“. Das monumentale Werk mit 240 Illustrationen beschäftigte Schnorr über Jahre hinaus; das vorliegende Blatt gehört zu dem Satz der definitiven Entwürfe, die immer linkerseits mit eigenhändigen handschriftlichen Bibelzitaten versehen sind.
