3072. Winter, Joseph Georg

Sauhatz (vier Hunde greifen einen Eber an). Federzeichnung in Braun über Kreide, 1786. 19x32,2 cm. Unten rechts monogrammiert und datiert "17 Julij 1786". - Durchschlagende Leimspuren am oberen Rand, etwas gebräunt und fleckig und mit Knickspuren. Randmängel.
Winter gilt, neben Ridinger, zu Recht, als der bedeutendste Tier- und Jagdschilderer des 18.Jh. Die sehr lebhaft und naturnah dargestellte dramatische Jagdszene geht offenbar auf ein konkretes, persönliches Jagderlebnis des Autors zurück (vgl. auch das fast identisches Blatt der Kunsthalle Hamburg, Inv. Nr.23881, das ebenfalls mit 17.Julij 1786 datiert ist), diente Winter aber auch später, in Abänderung des Motivs (Stier statt Eber), nochmals als Vorlage (Art Institut Chicago, Inv. 1927.6394, datiert 1789).
