Acht Kinder bei Knöchelspiel. Bleistiftzeichnung. 17,8x24,6 cm. - Minimal fingerfleckig und mit minimalen Knitterspuren.

Die Grimms und die Kinder : Etwas ausführlichere Variante/ Vorzeichnung zur Grimms Radierung „Kinderspiel in Kurhessen“ (vgl. z.B. Albertina Inv.Nr. D/ III/ 52/ 12). Die Radierung ist mit dem Jahr 1815 datiert, für die Zeichnung kann man dasselbe Jahr annehmen - das Jahr, als Grimm vom Frankreichfeldzug, an welchem er als Leutnant im 3. hessischen Landwehrregiment teilgenommen hatte, zurückehrte. Heile Kinderwelt als Ausgleich zur grausamen Gegenwart des Krieges.
