Beim vorliegenden Blatt handelt es sich um eine Vorstudie zur Illustration "Es war ein gewaltiges Ding" aus: Jeremias Gotthelf, Ausgewählte Werke: Illustrierte Prachtausgabe, Teil 2 (Die Käserei in der Vehfreude u.a.), Verlag F. Zahn, La Chaux-de-Fonds, 1894-1900, S. 46.
