Paris, Anfang 19.Jh. Holz und Pappe mit tlw. kolorierten Kupferstichauflagen. Gedrechselter Rundfuss mit Balusterschaft. Darüber vierarmiges Gestell mit Horizontring und geozentrischem Sphärenmodell. Darstellung der Tierkreiszeichen, Winde sowie Angabe der Monate etc. Auf Globus bezeichnet "GLOBE TERRESTRE, à Paris, chez Delamarche, rue du Foin Jacq., collège de Gervais". H 47,5 cm.
- Alters- und Gebrauchspuren. Kleine Fehlstelle am Fuss.

Die Armillarsphäre ist ein astronomisches Gerät zur Darstellung der Bewegung von Himmelsköpern. Das hier beschriebene Exemplar stellt das lange bevorzugte Weltbild mit der Erde als Mittelpunkt des Universums dar.
