525. Stadtscheibe "St. Gallen 1595"

Schweiz, Ende 16.Jh., mit kleinen Ergänzungen. Christoph Murer (1558–1614) zugeschrieben. Glas geätzt und polychrom bemalt. In Bleifassung. Mittelbild: St. Galler Wappenpyramide flankiert von 2 Landsknechten. Links Bannerträger in Halbharnisch und Helm. Rechts Hellebardier in geschlitztem Wams und Pluderhosen. Oberlicht: 2 Szenen aus der Geschichte des römischen Helden Gaius Mucius Scaevola. Am Fuss Schriftkartusche "Die Statt Sant Gallen 1595" und Monogramm "CM". 42x31,5 cm. In dunkel gebeiztem Holzrahmen.
- Sehr guter Erhaltungszustand. Kleine Sprünge und wenige Notbleie.

- Zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts in der Sammlung Bloch-Frey in Neuhausen a. Rheinfall/Gingins VD
- 1926 im Kunsthandel (Bolleter)
- 2007 im Kunsthandel erworben, seither im gleichen Privatbesitz
