706. Entschlafen der Gottesmutter (Koimesis)
Bulgarisch, um 1800. Tempera über Kreidegrund auf Holz. Im Zentrum Darstellung der Gottesmutter auf ihrem Sterbelager, umgeben von trauernden Aposteln und Heiligen. Christus, auf Wolkensockel thronend, hält ihre Seele - ein Kind - im Arm. Im Vordergrund hat der Erzengel Gabriel die Hände des Jechoniak abgeschlagen, da dieser versucht hatte, die Bahre zu stürzen. Punzierte und gravierte Goldornamentik. 48x38,5 cm.
- Feine Risse und einige Insektengänge. Restaurierungsspuren.
