565. Figur "Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi"
Luigi Vassalli (1867–1933). Bronze mit dunkler Patina. Auf rechteckigem Terrainsockel stehender Pädagoge, einen Knaben tröstend. Am Sockel bezeichnet: "L. Vassalli". Rechteckige Plinthe mit Inschrift: "E PESTALOZZI". H 44 cm.
- Altersspuren. Minimal berieben.
Nach seiner Ausbildung an der Mailänder Accademia di Brera kehrte Vassalli zurück nach Lugano, wo er 1890 ein eigenes Atelier eröffnete. Seine Grabskulpturen fanden bald im ganzen Tessin grosse Beachtung. Im öffentlichen Raum ist es vor allem das Monumento all'Indipendenza del Ticino (1898), das ihn einem breiteren Publikum bekannt machte.
