Chur, 1.Hälfte 19.Jh. Zinn. Im Deckelinnern Marke des Johann Jakob Ulrich Bauer (1781–1850). Bodenrosette seines Vaters Mathäus II. Bauer (1751–1804). Leicht gewölbter Deckel mit Band als Drücker. Auf dem Henkel Eichzeichen und Jahreszahl "1855". H 28,5 cm.

Schneider/Kneuss, Zinngiesser der Schweiz, Nr. 413 und Nr. 418 (Bodenrosette).
Johann Jakob Ulrich Bauer war neben Heinrich Wilhelm Lange der letzte Zinngiesser von Chur. Er ging bei seinem Vater Mathäus II. Bauer in die Lehre. 1820 wurde er Zunftmeister, 1822 Ratsherr und 1825 Oberzunftmeister. (Lit.: Duri Vital, Die Churer Zinngiesser, Chur/Basel, 1979, S. 100 ff.).
