Um 1968. Erinnerung an die Schlacht von Sardarapat/Armenien 1918. Emailarbeit mit der Darstellung verschiedener nationaler Symbole: Soldaten, Frau mit Schwert (wohl Königin Tamar), Berg Ararat, Glockenturm des Denkmals von 1968, errichtet zum 50jährigen Jubiläum. Inschriften in Armenisch, Jahreszahl 1918. Gerahmt. Masse (ohne Rahmen) 59,5x24,5 cm.
"Die Schlacht von Sardarapat war eine Schlacht der Kaukasuskampagne des Ersten Weltkrieges, die vom 24. bis 26. Mai 1918 in der Nähe des heutigen Dorfes Sardarapat in Armenien stattfand. Die Schlacht stoppte nicht nur den Vormarsch der Osmanen nach Armenien, sondern verhinderte auch - drei Jahre nach dem Beginn des Völkermordes an den Armeniern - eine möglicherweise völlige Zerschlagung der armenischen Nation."
