200. Damen- und Herrenporträt, Marquard Wocher
Basel, 1783. Aquarell auf Papier, oval, beide signiert, das Herrenporträt datiert 1783. Junge Dame mit grossem, Blumen geschmücktem Hut, in hellblauem dekolletiertem Kleid mit Masche. Der junge Herr mit Puderperücke, in dunkelblauem Rock, weissem Hemd und Halsbinde. Beide gerahmt. 10x14 cm.
Marquard Fidel Domenikus Wocher (Mimmenhausen 1760–1830 Basel). Zeichner, Stecher, Maler, Miniaturist und Heraldiker. Ursprünglich aus Deutschland, in Bern und Basel tätig. 1814 Panorama von Thun. Wocher experimentierte an einer neuen Art von Stadtansicht. Er versuchte, die erst kürzlich erfundene Bildgattung des Panoramas mit der kleinmeisterlichen Tradition der Veduten- und Genremalerei zu vereinbaren.
