"Magdalena Esslinger-Escher im Hard, mit ihren Töchtern Regina, Magdalena, Esther und Anna Maria", 1793. Öl auf Leinwand. Unten mittig von späterer Hand bezeichnet "Diogg de Genéve 1793". 147,5x176 cm. - Doubliert. Einige Retuschen und der Firnis im unteren Bildteil stellenweise krepiert.

W. Hugelshofer vermerkt auf S. 33/34 Folgendes: "Die Ausstellung des Bernoldschen Familienbildes (1799 beim Brand von Walenstadt zerstört) in Zürich brachte Diogg seinen grössten Auftrag ein. Der reiche Fabrikant Esslinger liess 1793 auf zwei umfänglichen Leinwänden seine zahlreiche Familie malen, auf der einen die männlichen, auf der anderen die weiblichen Glieder. Es sind Meisterwerke im Oeuvre Dioggs geworden, denen in unserem Lande zu ihrer Zeit nichts Ähnliches an die Seite zu stellen ist".
