1200. Kalksteinrelief

Aegypten, ptolemäische Zeit, ca. 300–30 v.C. Kalkstein. Darstellung des nackten, jugendlichen Gottes Harpokrates, stehend nach rechts gerichtet. In seiner Linken hält er ein Sistrum mit dem Gesicht der Göttin Hathor, seine Rechte hält einen Wedel. Er ist einer senkrechten Inschrift zugewandt: "Die Sistren schütteln für seine Mutter, die Mächtige, ihr Herz besänftigen durch Anbetung". Ihm gegenüber stand vermutlich eine gefährliche Göttin. Harpokrates gilt als Schützer vor gefährlichen Tieren und war vor allem in der Spätzeit populär. H 92, B 41, T 4 cm.
