3821. Hinterlader-Pistole

Jean Antoine Robert, Paris, 1 H.19.Jh. Eisen, oktogonaler, gezogener Lauf, Kal. 11mm. Laufoberseite mit Herstellerkartusche "PISTOLET ROBERT BREVETE A PARIS" und Cbre 40, floral ziseliert. Mittels arretiertem Bügel, aufklappbares Schloss. Eisengarnituren. Nussbaumgriff, geriffelt. L ca. 29 cm. Seltene Waffe.

Robert Jean Antoine, Paris/F, erw 1829-40. Werkstatt: 6 bis rue Richet; Depot 5 rue J.J. Rousseau; Geschäft: 1840, 17 rue du Faubourg Monmartre. Erfinder des gleinamigen Hinterladesystems für Metallpatronen, welches auf dem Prinzip von Samuel PAULY beruht. 1832 führt die belgische Armee damit Versuche durch, und bestellt angeblich 3'000 Stück. Erhält 1833 die Goldmedaille der "Académie de l'Industrie". In der Schweiz werden 1836 Versuche durchgeführt, es wird vorgeschlagen, das System anstelle des perkussionssystems mit Zündhütchen in der Armee einzuführen; der Antrag bleibt ohne Folge.
