3144. Levitan, Isaak

Dorf im Schnee. Wohl aus den 1880er Jahren. Öl auf Halbkarton, auf Leinwand montiert. Unten links signiert. 21x37,8 cm.
Provenienz: Der Grossvater des heutigen Besitzers lebte zwischen 1900 und 1907 in Russland. Es ist anzunehmen, dass er das Gemälde in dieser Zeit dort erworben hat.
Diese wunderbare Winterszene steht stilistisch anderen Winterszenen Levitans sehr nahe. Vergleichbare Arbeiten sind "Dorf. Winter" von 1877/78, heute im Museum Tula und "Der letzte Schnee" von 1884 in der Tretjakov-Galerie, sowie zwei Stiche nach Gemälden des Künstlers mit dem Titel "Winter" (1883 in der Zeitschrift "Raduga" publiziert) sowie zwei Zeichnungen "Dorf im Schnee" von 1885 und "Dorf. Winter" von 1888, heute beide in Privatbesitz.
Die im Oeuvre des Künstlers gut wiedererkennbare Komposition, das Kolorit mit subtilen Abstufungen von perlmuttfarbenen Grautönen sowie die Luftigkeit, Raumtiefe und Flüchtigkeit sind charakteristisch für die kleinformatigen Werke Levitans und zeichnen auch unser Gemälde besonders aus.
Wir danken Larissa V. Ischtschenko, Liubov M. Lebedeva und Olga V. Nasedkina vom Museum Levitan in Pljos für die Hilfe bei der Katalogisierung dieses Gemäldes aufgrund von hoch aufgelösten Fotografien.
