Provenienz: Schweizer Privatbesitz.
Das hier angebotene Gemälde stammt sehr wahrscheinlich aus einer Serie zum Thema der vier Elemente. Die Komposition führt auf das Gemälde "Antonio Moncada führt die Königin Blanka von Sizilien in ein Versteck" von David Teniers III. und Jan van Kessel I. zurück. In der rechten unteren Ecke der Bordüre ist dasselbe Motiv zu finden.
