- Schliessen fehlen, Papier unterschiedlich stark gebräunt und stockfleckig, durchgehend mit leichtem Feuchtigkeitsrand im Aussensteg, insgesamt wohlerhaltenes Exemplar.

- Caspar Bauhin (1560 - 1624) war Professor der Anatomie und Botanik in Basel und bringt mit seinem 1623 zum ersten Mal erschienenen "Pinax theatri botanici" eine genaue Beschreibung und Klassifikation von 6000 Pflanzen. Er führte die binäre Nomenklatur ein und schuf mit dem "Pinax" ein grundlegendes Werk, das bis zur Pflanzensystematik von Linné 1735 Bestand hatte!
