554. Figur, Pauline Borghese als Venus Victrix
Wohl Italien, 19.Jh., nach dem Modell von Antonio Canova (1757–1822). Figur aus weissem Marmor. Recamière aus Holz, grauen Marmor imitierende Fassung und vergoldete Applikationen. Liegende Pauline Borghese mit entblösstem Oberkörper und hochgestecktem Haar, einen Apfel in ihrer linken Hand haltend. 106x36 cm.

Pauline (1780–1825), die Schwester Kaiser Napoleons, verbrachte den grössten Teil ihres Lebens in Paris, wo sie mit Affären und Skandalen Aufsehen erregte. Nach dem Tod ihres ersten Ehemanns General Eduard Leclert heiratete sie 1803 den Fürsten Borghese.
