Deutschland, Solingen, 1. Hälfte 17. Jh. Kreuzgefäss aus Eisen mit achtfach facettiertem Knauf, Nietknäufchen und 22,5 cm langer Parierstange. Mitteleisen der "Rad-"Seite mit drei silbertauschierten Kreispunkten. Perfekt sitzende, eisendrahtbewickelte Hilze mit Türkenbünden. Zweischneidige Klinge (L 82 cm, B 5,8 cm) mit gerundetem Ort und beidseitig je ca. 18 cm langer Kehlung. Darüber in Kupfer eingelegt Darstellung eines sechsspeichigen Rades, andere Flachseite mit Galgendarstellung. Darunter am Blattansatz die Hirschmarke des Solinger Klingenschmieds Meves Berns (tätig um 1610 bis 1650). L 103,4 cm, G 1820 g.
Aufgrund der drei an Vergleichstücken bislang unbekannten silbernen Kreiseinlagen waffenkundlich bedeutendes Instrument eines schweizerischen oder deutschen Scharfrichters. Die Klingenstadt Solingen versorgte weite Bereiche Mitteleuropas zwischen dem späteren 16. und frühen 19. Jh. mit den charakteristisch geformten und thematisch "verzierten" Richtschwertklingen.
