Blade Guitars wurde 1987 von Gary Levinson gegründet. Levinson reparierte seit 1964 Gitarren und eröffnete 1977 nach Beendigung seines Studiums an der Universität Basel den Laden Guitars by Levinson. Nach 10 Jahren Tätigkeit als Custom-Gitarrenbauer beschloss er schliesslich, Blade Guitars zu gründen.
