515. Wappenscheibe "Hans Friedrich Meiss, 1651"
Schweiz, datiert 1651, mit Ergänzungen. Farbloses und farbiges Glas, tlw. geätzt. Bemalung in Schwarzlot, Silbergelb und Schmelzfarben. In Bleifassung. Vor Bogenarchitektur behelmtes Wappen der von Meiss (in Gold, mit rotem Balken und drei schwarzen Adlern). Am Fuss Inschrift: "Hauptman Hans Friderich Meiss / Burger Zürich seshafdt vnd Grichtsherr zu / Kempten, Gryffenberg und Werdegg 1651". 53,5x34,5 cm. In Holzrahmen montiert.
- Altersspuren. Sprungbleie und geklebpte Sprünge.
Friedrich Meiss (1607–1657) heiratete 1643 Dorothea Blarer (1600–1654). (Quelle: Erhard Dürsteler (1678–1766), "Stemmatologia Tigurina").
Die Herren von Meiss gehörten zu den ältesten Patrizierfamilien in der ehemaligen freien Reichsstadt Zürich. Ab Mitte des 14. Jahrhunderts führten Angehörige den Junkertitel, der erst im 19. Jahrhundert durch das Prädikat "von" ersetzt wurde.
