523. Siegel der Kartause "Haus Maria Saal" in Buxheim

Deutsch, spätgotisch, um 1500. Silber. In Form einer Mandorla. Im Zentrum über Wappen thronende Maria mit Kind. Umlaufende Inschrift: "S. Domvs avle beate marie in buchshaim". Holzgriff mit Kerbschnitt-Dekor ergänzt. H 6,5 cm, H 7,5 cm (Griff).
- Leichte Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren.

Das Kloster Buxheim (Bayern) wurde um 1100 als Kollegiatsstift gegründet und 1402 an die Kartäuser übergeben. Die Grande Chartreuse, das Mutterkloster mit dem Sitz der Ordensleitung, inkorporierte 1406 die Kartause Buxheim in den Orden und gab ihr den Namen "Domus Aulae Mariae" (Haus Maria Saal).
