1011. Relief des Buddha Shakyamuni
Indien, Gandhara, 3./4.Jh. Schiefer. Shakyamuni, der historische Buddha, in Meditationshaltung auf einem Lotussockel. Sein Gesichtsausdruck ist entspannt und sanft, seine Hände zeigen vor der Brust das dharmachakra-Mudra. Er wird flankiert von zwei ebenfalls auf Lotussockeln stehenden Bodhisattvas, von denen einer eine Blütengirlande in den Händen hält. H 26,5 cm. Mit rückwärtiger Aufhängung.
- Fehl- und Schadstellen. Nase ergänzt.
