Gemarkt Meister, Zürich. 18K-Gold quatre couleurs. Runde Form. Reich gezierte Dose mit guillochierter Wandung, Boden mit varierenden Blatt- und Blütenbordüren, eine davon hellgrün emailliert. Deckel mit bekröntem Monogramm "R" - des englischen Earl of Rathowne, umrandet von Brillanten. Das Monogramm besteht aus Altschliff-Diamanten, die Krone tlw. emailliert und mit Kulturperlen besetzt. Umrandet von applizierten Eich- und Akanthusblattmotiven sowie Musikinstrumenten und abschliessender Blätterbordüre. Gemarkt EM, Feingehalt 750. D 9,4 cm, 434 g.

Literatur: A. Kenneth Snowman "Eighteenth Century Gold Boxes of Europe", siehe Foto Nr. 466–467. Die originale Dose/Tabatière ist ein Werk des Goldschmieds James Keating (Dublin 1795–1796) angefertigt als Geschenk für den Earl of Rathdowne. Sie befindet sich im Metropolitan Museum, New York.
