Schweiz, 3.Viertel 16.Jh., Ringier - Zofingen Vierkantspitze, im Ansatz flächig, trapezförmiges Blatt mit schräg gestellter, gerader Schneide, Kanten etwas konkav, Marke „in Quadrat diagonaler Balken mit drei Kugeln resp. Ringen“ ( = Ringierwappen) Flächiger Schnabelhaken, mit einem Einschnitt. Zwei gewellte Schaftfedern und Bänder, Achtkantschaft. L 227, 5 cm.
Die beiden Söhne des in Zofingen eingebürgerten Stammvaters der Ringier Hans Ringier (erwähnt 1538-1567) Michael (erw.1546-1605), der 1587-1605 das Amt des Schultheissen bekleidete, und Jakob (erw.1540-1586) übten das Messer-und Waffenschmiedehandwerk aus. Die drei Söhne Jakobs waren erneut Messerschmiede und stellten zeitweise ebenfalls Halbarten her. Die Ringiermarke wurde von Hugo Schneider fälschlicherweise dem Zürcher Konrad Locher erw.1693/98 zugeschrieben. Vgl. Schneider, Schweizer Waffenschmiede, S.1976, S.176.
